The American Psychological Association (APA) and the Modern Languages Association (MLA) publish separate guidelines that show how to document research for projects, papers, and theses. Both style guides generally update themselves every four to five years. Students can find the most updated information about them in the writing handbooks that they use for English and Composition classes or in the following links, which are officially sanctioned by the APA and MLA, respectively.
